'Five Nights at Freddy's' creator says he will be return to the horror genre with a brand new game

Scott Cawthon has made a name for himself as the purveyor of horror with the success of the 'Five Nights at Freddy's' series. So the news that his next game will be a role-playing one has taken fans by surprise, with some worrying that the game director is saying goodbye to the horror genre. Luckily, that isn't the case.
According to Cinema Blend, one fan asked in the 'Five Nights at Freddy's 4' community forum over at Steam whether Cawthon would ever return to the genre and everyone was pleasantly surprised when the 44-year-old video game designer answered in the affirmative.
Cawthon doesn't usually participate in the forum discussions so everyone was taken aback when he joined. The 'Pilgrim's Progress' designer said that not only is he returning to making scary games, he "already has an idea for the next one." But whether his new game will feature new characters or see the return of Freddy Fazbear and the gang is a mystery. However, fans are hopeful that Cawthon will talk more about this mystery game once 'Five Nights at Freddy's World' is released.
The decision to make 'Five Nights at Freddy's World' an RPG was something that Freddy fans did not expect. The upcoming game is allegedly very different from the cloying and dark atmosphere that pervaded the 'Five Nights at Freddy's' series, reports Jobsnhire.com.
This time around, the whole roster of 'Five Nights at Freddy's' animatronics has been given a makeover, with Cawthon making them lighter and surprisingly cuter. The way the Texan animator explains his new game, players have to pick several characters to create a party. They will also be able to choose different versions of the characters – classic, nightmare, phantom, toy and withered.
'Five Nights at Freddy's World' is still being developed and no release date has been set yet.
The entire 'Five Nights at Freddy's' series is now available on mobile devices and on the PC, with a DLC set to be released on Halloween.
