Fujifilm FinePix XP90 specs: Rugged 16.4 MP camera is waterproof and shockproof

Fujifilm has introduced the FinePix X90, a compact camera with a rugged and lightweight design. It delivers high-quality images even in the most rugged outdoor conditions.
The Fujifilm FinePix XP90 has been designed for outdoor activities like skiing, snowboarding and mountain biking. It has IP68 certification which means that it is waterproof up to 15 meters and can withstand drops of up to 1.75 meters. The rugged camera can still operate in temperatures as low as 14°F. It can also withstand dust and sand.
Furthermore, there is a double-locking mechanism that prevents the battery and memory card slot from accidentally opening. The camera also features a front grip and thumb rest for stable handling.
The Fujifilm FinePix XP90 can also be easy carried to different destinations. It is lightweight at just 203 grams.
The camera features a 16.4 MP BSI CMOS sensor that delivers stunning images regardless of shooting conditions. It has a 5x optical FUJINON lens that can capture 28 mm wide angle images. Frame rates for full resolution images is up to 10 frames per second and 30 frames per second for a lower 2 MP resolution.
There are also various shooting modes including continuous shooting, an interval timer and a time-lapse video function.
The Fujifilm FinePix XP90 features Scene Recognition. This function automatically assesses the scene and adjusts focus, exposure and shutter speed settings in order to take optimal images.
The camera also features 11 advanced art filters, HDR capture and Motion Panorama 360°. It can capture Full HD (1920 x 1080) videos with filters, effects and editing features.
Fujifilm's rugged camera comes with a 3-inch LCD display with 920K dot pixels. The display has an anti-glare coating so users can view images even under water. To optimize battery life, the display also automatically adjusts brightness settings.
With Wi-Fi connectivity, the camera can be easily paired with any smartphone. The camera can be controlled remotely using the free Camera Remote application. Wireless functionality also allows users to transfer images onto other devices.
The Fujifilm FinePix XP90 is scheduled to go on sale starting February 2016. It comes in four colors – yellow, blue, black, black with green and black with orange. The camera is priced at $229.95.
