The Galaxy Note Edge's curved screen gave Samsung a leading edge in design and since its launch, the device has gone on to earn a lot of loyal users. Here is how it compares to the current flagship device from LG, the G4.

Design

The Note Edge is mostly made of plastic. It is used extensively on its front, as well as on its back, although the back panel is covered in faux leather. However, it has a metal frame designed to give added rigidity in case it is dropped. Of course, the outstanding feature of Samsung's phablet is its curved screen that flows over its right hand side. The curved portion of the screen is designed to function independently and provides quick access to apps, displays notifications and even a night clock.

The LG G4 also has a curve that extends from top to bottom, as well to its screen and body. However, the curve, dubbed the "SlimArc" is subtle. Although, it has the ability to protect the screen in case of accidental drops. The G4 is also made mostly of plastic and uses patterned polycarbonate in ceramic white, gold and grey on its back panel. However, there are leather back panels in various natural colors available, which can be purchased separately and installed easily.

Display

Aside from the Note Edge's unique display, it is sharp and comes with a Super AMOLED screen measuring 5.6 inches with a resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels and a density of 524 pixels per inch while the LG G4 has an IPS LCD screen, measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 538 pixels per inch.

Specs

The LG G4 is slightly ahead, when it comes to specs, as it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, a hexa-core CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.44 GHz and two Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 1.82 GHz and an Adreno 418 GPU. On the Note Edge is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, a Krait 450 CPU with four cores clocked at 2.7 GHz and an Adreno 420 GPU.

Both phablets have memory slots, which can be used to extend the external storage to up to 128 GB. As for RAM, each has 3 GB.
