'Game of Thrones' season 6 spoilers: Lady Stoneheart to join season 6

(Facebook/GameOfThrones)Game of Thrones season 6 returns to HBO on April 24.

Another dead character with a potential to be resurrected grabs the attention of fans, with the expectation of the "Game of Thrones" season 6 premiere. And more so with the first full trailer only just out on March 8. If there are two things the series abounds in, it's tragic deaths and surprising resurrections, and Lady Stoneheart will have gone through both if the signs prove true.

Walking away a bit from the show and looking into the novel series "A Song of Ice and Fire" written by George R.R. Martin, we learn that Catelyn Stark gets resurrected after her Red Wedding death as the corpse known as Lady Stoneheart. Now, the showrunners have already declared that this is something they are not interested to pursue in the show. It is believed though that they are merely pulling the wool down over viewers' eyes and will sometime unexpectedly wrench it away in one surprising moment in the show.

And so it is speculated that Lady Stoneheart may appear in the television series eventually, and what better time than in the upcoming season 6? Lady Stoneheart in the "Game of Thrones" would be one big plot development that the producers would not necessarily want the audience knowing. And fans seem more than sure of this, what with the appearance of Catelyn Stark on the promotional posters!

Of course many may discount this reason as being a bit flimsy considering there are other characters who also appear on the posters, some of them dead yet some others alive, too. The next may be a surer hint, more so since this has already been confirmed. Catelyn's uncle, Brynden "Blackfish" Tully, played by Clive Russel, will be back for season 6. His return is seen as a perfect time for her to make an appearance. His return could only be because he is the one who is to hold the castle against their enemies, the Lannisters. Since this plot is not central to the major storyline, and yet Blackfish is brought back, it could only show that something big is to happen for House Tully. And that could be lady Stoneheart.

In the book, Catelyn's body was thrown into the river but retrieved by Nymeria, Arya's direwolf. Then Beric Dondarrion finds her, and being of the Lord of the Light's faith, resurrects her with his magic, himself dying his seventh death in doing so. Catelyn is returned to life, but her wounds were not healed, leaving her looking bloated from her immersion in the river and with a large slit on her throat. Now resurrected as Lady Stoneheart, she is full of vengefulness at those who betrayed her and killed her eldest son.

Last but not the least, the clearest hint of Lady Stoneheart's appearance in the series is that of Ian McShane's. His character has not been revealed as yet, but his role is to bring someone back from the dead.

"Game of Thrones" season 6 will premiere April 24 on HBO.
