Jess Mariano (Milo Ventimiglia) may surprise everyone by running away with Rory Gilmore's (Alexis Bledel) heart in the upcoming revival of "Gilmore Girls."

Although there have been plenty of teasers for the Netflix revival, fans still do not know when the much-awaited premiere will take place. According to TV Line, that may soon change when stars Lauren Graham and Bledel attend Netflix's Television Critics Assoc. press tour panel this July. Together with series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, they are expected to shed light on the release date and other details about the upcoming revival. Perhaps, they may even provide a clue on which boy Rory would pick. Fans are quite vocal in saying they are Team Dean or Team Logan. Could underdog Jess win the race?

For fans of the series, Jess is Rory's second serious boyfriend and Luke's (Scott Patterson) acerbic nephew. She met the quintessential bad boy when he was forced to live with his uncle at the diner. Jess' mother married a new man and the teen was feeling rebellious. To straighten him out, he got sent to Luke's. Rory and Jess' first meeting was anything but sweet. He was way too arrogant for her taste. Eventually, their love for books bound them together. It is safe to say that Jess was the reason why Rory broke up with Dean Forester (Jared Padalecki).

However, Jess and Rory's romance fizzled out soon. Although they showed great chemistry, they lived in different worlds. Her mother Lorelai (Graham) did not like him for her, even though he was Luke's family. When Rory was at Yale and began dating Logan Huntzberger (Matt Czuchry), she got into a situation where she needed to do community service for her mistake. Jess came out of his hole to knock some sense into her. He tried to reestablish their connection but they had already grown so far apart.

Jess is an unlikely person to end up with Rory in the revival, but Sutton Foster, who will join the cast for the revival, said it has to be Jess.

"There was something about [Milo] and Rory and Jess. I mean, I liked Dean too. I was never a big fan of Logan. But Jess was always my favorite. He was — there was something about their chemistry together," she told Us Weekly.

The revival of "Gilmore Girls" will premiere near the end of 2016 on Netflix.
