"Girl Meets World" season 3 will be dialing back the intensity a little as the Matthews household and family friends search for a missing teddy bear.

Each one of us has had a treasured keepsake from our childhood. Whether it's a doll, a book, or even a blanket, losing it was tantamount to a catastrophe in our young minds. That's what Riley will be dealing with in episode 12. In "Girl Meets Bear," the Matthews household is in a state of emergency when Barry, Riley's childhood teddy bear, goes missing.

A trailer for the upcoming episode begins with a shot of Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) apparently waking Riley (Rowan Blanchard). Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga's (Danielle Fishel) daughter quickly realizes that "something is gone." Auggie (August Maturo), Corey, and even Zay (Amir Mitchell-Townes) appear to be looking for something in the kitchen, while Riley searches the closets. Meanwhile, the latter half of the clip teases that what the gang will find instead is "a big secret." It seems that Zay wants to tell Maya something. Could that be the big secret? Whatever it is, it certainly seems to shock Maya.

The upcoming episode might appear lighthearted, but fans know that there's something more to the story. The Wrap shared a longer look at one of the scenes from episode 12 and shed more light on what lesson Cory will impart on his children. In the clip, Auggie finds a necklace with a pair of silver boxing gloves and shows it to his father. "Boy Meets World" fans will remember that the necklace was given to Cory by his father, Alan (William Russ).

Alan apparently was a member of the Navy's boxing team and received the gloves during his stint with the military. Unfortunately, Cory promptly lost this keepsake, despite how important it was to him. The necklace's fate was never discussed again, until now. It's a great way to look back to the original series and teach kids a lesson on putting more value on a memory than on material things.

As for the big secret that Riley and her friends will uncover, there are rumors that suggest Zay's feelings for Maya will be revealed. With Josh (Uriah Shelton) said to be returning, this is a storyline that fans will no doubt be following.

Episode 12 of "Girl Meets World" season 3 will be aired on the Disney Channel on Aug. 26.
