"Girl Meets World" is tapering toward season finale, and the upcoming episode may leave many viewers of the show with their jaws dropped as the recent events in the series may not end up how they were perceived to be.

In the previous episode of "Girl Meets World," titled "Girl Meets Ski Lodge Part 1," viewers witnessed Lucas (Peyton Meyer) choosing Riley (Rowan Blanchard) over Maya (Sabrina Carpenter). However, a recent tweet from the writers of the show hinted that a change of mind and heart on the part of Lucas may still happen before the series wraps up its season 3.

"This week: Ski Lodge Part 2, in which we don't make the right decisions. Because we love the characters too," was the intriguing tweet of Girl Meets World Writers.

However, as the followers of the said Twitter account continue to discuss, another tweet was made that added fuel to the suspicion that, in the end, it will still be Lucas and Maya after all.

"And because of that, they will examine the positions we have put them in. And the story will let us finally know what is important. Enjoy it," goes the Twitter post of Girl Meets Writers.

While it is true that the tweets hint on the possibility of Lucas and Maya ending up together at the conclusion of the series, there are also those who can't help but wonder how it would happen. For one thing, it has already been teased that Maya is falling for Uncle Josh (Uriah Shelton).

According to Carter Matt, though, the relationship of Lucas with Riley will be met with some complications as the latter may be smitten with somebody else that will turn the former into a green-eyed monster. In the event that Lucas decides to date Maya, it is also possible for her to think that she is just a rebound.

Is there still a chance for Lucas and Maya? Will Riley really drop Lucas in favor of somebody else? Will Maya settle for being a second choice?
