In the wake of the GoPro Hero 5's mostly positive critical reception, people are now looking forward to what may be featured next in the potential GoPro Hero 6.

First off, it's worth wondering just how long it may take for another flagship action camera from GoPro to make it to the market again.

The wait for the GoPro Hero 5 took longer than expected, with developers taking extra time to ensure that it would be fully ready by the time it came out.

Considering that the GoPro Hero 5 came out just this past October and that even the rumor mill has yet to catch on to its follow-up as a popular topic, it may be a while before the new camera is made available.

While the GoPro Hero 6 may not be coming out anytime soon, there are still possible reasons why people can get excited about it.

Even though the currently available GoPro Hero 5 received plenty of praise, there are still areas of improvement that can be addressed by its potential follow-up.

As CNet noted in their review of the action camera, its battery life still leaves a lot to be desired. Producing a new camera that could feature a significantly enhanced battery could make it more appealing even to those who have thus far held off on getting a GoPro of their own.

Wired also noted that the voice controls of the new camera can still be problematic at times, as it can still be confused by envionmental sounds. Improving upon this feature could also go a long way towards making the next camera in the series more successful.

For now though, people may be better off getting more familiar with their GoPro Hero 5, as a significantly improved follow-up is still nowhere to be seen.
