'Grey's Anatomy' season 12 episode 9 spoilers: New trailer reveals Meredith's condition

After a lengthy winter break, "Grey's Anatomy" season 12 is finally back on air with episode 9, titled "The Sound of Silence," tomorrow Feb. 11.
In the upcoming episode, the doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial will be shown doing everything they could to stabilize Meredith after she was attacked by a patient.
New details on Meredith's condition have been shown in the recently released sneak preview of the upcoming episode. In the clip, Penny finds Meredith lying on the floor. When the doctors start operating on Meredith, they discuss that the patient might have lashed out at Meredith because of hyper-agression following a seizure.
In an interview with E! News, Giacomo Gianniotti, who plays Dr. Andrew DeLuca, shared how the show will progress after Meredith's attack. He said: "Usually an episode is covering a day or two at most, we're seeing weeks and months go by, and different stages of her recovery. So you really get to see a lot of passage of time and the changing of a lot of relationships throughout that time while waiting for Meredith to heal.
Episode 9 will also mark the Academy Award-winning director Denzel Washington's directorial debut for a small screen project.
Before the season returns, viewers can expect Nathan and Owen's rift to get even darker. When Kevin McKidd, who plays Owen, was interviewed by Entertainment Weekly about his character and Nathan, he said that it could be a matter of "life and death."
As for Amelia and Meredith's fight, it is interesting to see if the two will finally make up, knowing Meredith's condition. The tension between the two started when Penny entered the picture. Their arguments—related to Owen hating on Nathan—led to Meredith kicking Amelia out of the house.
Meanwhile, Jackson might be pushing for his plans to divorce April, even though they slept together again.
More drama will unfold as "Grey's Anatomy" season 12 returns on ABC this Thursday at 8 p.m.
