With the launch of "Halo 5: Guardians" due to take place on October of this year, the game has been getting a lot of attention from fans and the media. After a successful showing at E3 which concluded last month, fans recently learned that the game will not have the split-screen feature in the co-operative mode.

The E3 showing of "Halo 5: Guardians" was met with a positive reception from gamers and gaming pundits alike. During the press conference, many details which fans have long been waiting for, were announced. Some these included the four player co-operative action, which will see the four-member red team face off against the four-member blue team. Many were excited about the thought of having a four-player split screen but were easily disappointed when news about the game not having the feature made the rounds.

The absence of the split-screen option has angered gamers especially since 343 Industries studio head, Josh Holmes, has previously mentioned in one of his tweets that the game would be supporting the feature. This particular tweet was sent out earlier in the year and Holmes specifically stated that both the multiplayer and campaign co-op mode of game will have a split screen for two players. Even though this particular news meant that the four-player split screen was history, many were happy and content that they would still be getting a 2-player split screen.

Unfortunately, it seems like the game will not have a split screen at all. The absence of the split-screen has been confirmed when Holmes tweeted back an answer in response to a question and wrote, "Halo 5: Guardians" multiplayer modes would "use full screen on dedicated servers, including Coop Campaign, Arena and Warzone."

His more recent announcement has left many players disappointed with some even cancelling their pre-orders of the game. As to why, 343 Industries has decided to remove the split-screen feature, gamers will simply have to wait for an official announcement as none has been provided at the moment.

However, several gaming websites suggest that the reason it was removed is because the co-operative campaign is designed to run at 60 fps and having split-screens would be almost "impossible."
