Take one part of a super-popular game, such as "Pokemon Go," and mix that with another super-popular book and movie franchise, such as "Harry Potter," and there's potential for something great to be made, which is probably why so many fans have expressed their desire to see the not-anywhere-close-to-being-real-at-this-point game known as "Harry Potter Go."

For those who may have missed it, a trailer made by Stargaze Media showing what an augmented reality (AR) title featuring the wizards of Hogwarts could look like became a hit online.

The video even shows off some gameplay.

First, the video shows a character decked out in full wizard gear walking alone and then transitions later on to the player facing off with what looks to be some kind of flying creature.

"Harry Potter Go," as its seen in the trailer, would even enable players to choose between different teams, or in this case Hogwarts houses, and there are magic-stops to visit too.

Unfortunately, the trailer may be the closest thing that fans get to an actual game.

While more than a few fans have expressed their desire to see the AR game made, the people who need to sign off on it have yet to indicate that anything is in the works.

Niantic, "Pokemon Go's" developer, has yet to indicate that the rumored game is even being considered, and beyond that, the people in control of the "Harry Potter" franchise will also need to sign off on this project.

That's a lot of hurdles to clear for the rumored AR title, and while that does not necessarily rule out the game ever being made, it does seem to suggest that it won't be coming for a long time, if at all.

More news about "Harry Potter Go" should be made available in the future.
