'Hawaii Five-O' season 7 spoilers: What's in store for Steve, Daniel, and Chin in new episodes

Season 6 of "Hawaii Five-O" was filled with scenes that tested the bond of the group and also put to test individual emotions. The show's executive producer, Peter M. Lenkov, shared some insights on what awaits Steve, Danny, and Chin as played by actors Alex O'Loughlin, Scott Caan, and Daniel Dae Kim, respectively.
Steve and Danny's friendship is one of the strongest relationships in the series, and after Danny donated an organ to Steve, the bond between them will only grow stronger. According to Lenkov, "It brings Danny and McGarrett even closer together and it gives them another thing to be arguing about next year."
"I love the idea that McGarrett is going to abuse that organ, because McGarrett is a person who abuses himself and puts his life in danger all the time. Danny is going to resent the fact that he saved his life because of that. These guys are blood brothers, but now literally they are," Lenkov continued.
Many are wondering if this could mean more Caan scenes in season 7. Viewers have noted how he is seen less in the past seasons, and in an interview with Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, he explained that it was his choice to have five episodes less than O'Loughlin since he continues to go home to Los Angeles so he could be with family and work on other projects.
Viewers are also excited see what awaits Chin in season 7 after Gabriel (Christopher Sean) asked him to take care of his daughter, who also happens to be his niece. Lenkov said there's going to be a nice story arc between Gabriel's family and Chin as they discuss the custody of Sara. He said, "It's going to look like she's going to end up going back there, and I think Chin is going to understand that it's probably a better environment for her."
Filming for season 7 is underway and "Hawaii Five-O" is expected to return to CBS on Sept. 23 at 9 p.m.
