'Heroes of the Storm' updates: Chromie arrives next week; Medivh and new Ranked Play system coming in June

Blizzard Entertainment will be introducing new characters and overhauling ranked play for "Heroes of the Storm." In the coming months, more Nexus content, mounts, skins, and portraits will also be added.
Two new characters will be added in the next two months. Chromie, a long-range artillery mage, will be arriving during the week of May 17. The "World of Warcraft" representative will come with the highest kill-potential and will be able to release a very powerful punch.
Meanwhile, Medivh arrives during the week of June 14. Medivh is known as the most powerful Mage in the world. He can manipulate the battlefield, create portals, and become an invulnerable Raven. This powerful character will be a great addition to any player's roster.
The same week, Blizzard is also set to release the revamped Rank Play with new features, improvements and rewards.
"Heroes of the Storm" will have a new ranked system — League Tiers and Division. Players will be segregated into Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, and Grand Master. These League Tiers will signify each player's skill level. Each tier will also have divisions, with 5 as the lowest and 1 as the highest. This means that within the Gold tier, a Gold 1 player will rank higher than a Gold 4 player.
At the start of a new season, players will take part in 10 Placement Matches to determine their rank. Throughout the season, players will be able to earn points during Promotion Matches and may lost points after Demotion Matches.
The best players who earn the title of Master and Grand Master will operate with slightly different rules. Players will have their accumulated rank points to help differentiate from other master players. Rankings will range from 500 to 1 (the highest).
To ensure fair gameplay, only players with similar ranks will be grouped together. Also, given that communication is very important to the high-intensity matches, players with silence penalties will not be able to participate.
Players who manage to take part the entire season will be given epic rewards. They will receive a pile of treasure with contents that are commensurate to their rank. Players also earn more rewards by taking part of the preseason matches.
Blizzard just recently released a patch for the Public Test Realm to try out the new game content and balance changes before they are officially released to all players.
"Heroes of the Storm" is available to play for the Microsoft Windows and OS X PCs.
