'House of Cards' season 5 spoilers: the alleged plot to kill Frank materializes?

(Facebook/House of Cards)Will Frank Underwood be murdered in "House of Cards" season five?

The Underwoods are preparing for Frank to get re-elected and there are so many things to do, but as the campaign get busier than ever, it is said that a conspiracy is going on behind the POTUS' back and this will be depicted in "House of Cards" season five.

Many of his rivals definitely want Frank (Kevin Spacey) dead, but through all the challenges and struggles of being in a dirty game, Frank remains alive and well due to the people who are protecting him. But what will happen to Frank Underwood when the people he trusts turn out to be his greatest enemies?

Rumor has it that either of the two closest people to Frank's heart and political run will do the honors of eliminating him to get rid of his power and authority. These two are none other than Doug (Michael Kelly), the Chief of Staff of Frank's administration, and Claire (Robin Wright), Frank's one and only wife.

Everything will crumble if one of these two powerful names will be able to remove Frank from the country's highest seat. The biggest betrayal though is if these two join forces in erasing Frank from history. The question is: Will Frank allow such a conspiracy to happen?

"House of Cards" season five is expected to be more gripping and action-packed than the previous installments as Frank is busying himself with the elections. Claire is also up for vice presidency and the speculations are only getting stronger about her purported plans of ousting Frank when he gets re-elected.

What does Spacey's co-stars think about the rumors of murdering Frank? Mahershala Ali, who plays Remy Danton on the hit series, recently sat down with The Wrap and revealed his thoughts about the hot speculations.

"Like maybe at some point because he's the one closest to him [Frank], my guess would be [Doug] Stamper," Ali explained. Will Ali's insights turn out to be true in "House of Cards" season five?

All of these questions will hopefully be answered when the Netflix show returns for its fifth season run sometime 2017.
