'How I Met Your Mother': New DVD set features deleted scenes, alternate Season 9 ending

CBS' 'How I Met Your Mother' is releasing a DVD set containing all nine seasons of the Emmy Award winning show on Tuesday, and the most exciting part of it all is that this digital version offers an alternate ending to the series disappointing final in Season 9.
"'How I Met Your Mother' has always belonged to the fans," said show creator Carter Bays.
Bays continued, "You guys rooted the show on, made it a part of your life, and spent every Monday night with us for nearly a decade. We will always be grateful for that. As a way of saying thanks, we'd like to give you the opportunity for a piece of 'How I Met Your Mother' to actually, physically belong to you."
When the final 'How I Met Your Mother' Season 9 came to an end on March 31, the final episode became highly controversial and reaped rants from the cult-like following of the series all over the world.
The Internet was basically on fire.
"Oh no, I wasn't surprised. That show — which speaks to the quality of that show — always had such a passionate fanbase. I remember talking with one of our props guys about what the reaction was going to be, because some people all along had rooted for Ted and Robin, even when she was going to get married. There's no way to please everybody. There's no way to please 10 million people, unless you take them to the beach and give them food," Cristin Milioti answered, when asked by Time about the backlash the show received after the season finale.
Milioti plays the character of Tracy McConell, the future wife of Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor).
In the conclusion of 'How I Met Your Mother,' Tracy died in a very short scene. The ending broke the hearts of millions of viewers.
To appease fans, an alternate culmination features Tracy and Ted finally meeting each other.
Aside from the DVD, there is also a bonus disc that captures a retrospective documentary, a deleted scene where Robin and Tracy remember their lives together, recollection of Mosby kids during the finale sequence shot in 2006 and the revelation of the mystery pineapple in "The Pineapple Scene."
