Aside from deciding whether Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) is still worth his trust, Wes (Alfred Enoch) will also have to make up his mind about his confusing relationship with Laurel (Karla Souza) in the third season of "How to Get Away with Murder."

Executive producer Peter Nowalk told Entertainment Weekly that there is a possibility that the two would get involved romantically, especially after the kiss they shared in the season 2 finale. Viewers were surprised about the turn of events, especially as Wes and Laurel's vibe has always been that of siblings. Some attributed the kiss to the pressure that both of the characters were feeling. Wes was very confused about the ensuing revelations about his identity, whereas Laurel was feeling lost because of what her boyfriend has done.

Nowalk said that they understand the fans' reaction to the potential romance but maintained that this sort of emotional roller coaster does happen in real life. He also shared that the stress that Wes and Laurel were in also contributed to the sudden change, which made them see each other in an intimate manner. Laurel might also be the one to help Wes get over Rebecca's (Katie Findlay) death.

"What I love now is they both really have terrible fathers, and are very bonded in that area. It's possible that they'll come together romantically or not. The characters are both wondering what they want. Everyone wants to be healthy, and probably not to be incestuous with each other. But I don't think young people always make the right choice," he said.

As for Wes and Annalise, Nowalk told TV.com that it would be up to him to decide whether he wants her in his life again. Last season, Wes finally learned the truth about his professor, that she had been protecting him the entire time. Hating her or appreciating what she did would reportedly be Wes' biggest dilemma. The upcoming season is expected to show whether Wes will cut ties with Annalise or if they will become closer than ever.

"How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 is expected to return this fall on ABC.
