With new smartphones continuously arriving in the market, it is clear that the iPhone 6s has its work cut out if it wants to continue to dominate. Here is how one of the new entrants, the Huawei P9, compares to the iPhone 6s.

Design

The Huawei P9 is a solid device with a metal build, which is easy to hold. At the rear of the device is a fingerprint scanner, with two cameras that lie flush with the body of the device, and come in a special portion that is outlined in black. There are also no antenna lines on the device, and in terms of colors, it comes in white, rose gold, grey, silver, and two other shades of gold. As for the iPhone 6s, it is created from the 7000 series aluminum so it is less prone to bending, and it has Apple's traditional design elements that the company uses on its smartphones. As for the fingerprint scanner, it is included in the home button, while for colors, the device comes in gold, rose gold, silver, and gray.

Display

With 3D Touch is included in the iPhone 6s, users can use various amounts of pressure on the display to bring up additional menus. As for the display itself, it is an IPS LCD version measuring 4.7 inches, with a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels and density of 326 pixels per inch. On the Huawei P9 is a bigger LCD display measuring 5.2 inches, with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and density of 423 pixels per inch.

Hardware

On board the iPhone 6s is an Apple A9 chipset, coupled with a dual-core CPU and a PowerVR GT7600 GPU. As for the Huawei P9, it comes with a less powerful HiSilicon Kirin 955 chipset, coupled with an octa-core CPU and a Mali-T880 MP4 GPU.

Memory

Only the Huawei P9 has expandable storage up to 128 GB. As for RAM, the device from Huawei either has 3 GB or 4 GB, while the iPhone 6s has 2 GB.

Camera

The 12-megapixel version on the iPhone 6s is ranked better on DxOMark, while the dual 12-megapixel cameras on the Huawei P9 have no rating so far.

Price

Without a contract, the Huawei P9 costs $639 unlocked, while the iPhone 6s costs $199 with a two-year contract.
