Huawei Watch vs Moto 360 Sport: The Moto 360 sport isn't so stylish but has GPS advantage

With the Huawei Watch consistently being billed as one of the best looking Android Wear devices to be released this year, it looks like very few other devices will be able to challenge it in the design department. However, the upcoming Moto 360 Sport could turn out to be a major challenger in terms of hardware. This is how these two smartwatches compare.

Design

There is a round steel case on the Huawei Watch and it comes in three attractive colors: black, silver and rose gold. Straps for the device come in leather, but there are other versions made from steel that come with either mesh or links. Additionally, the straps that come with the Huawei Watch can quickly and easily be swapped out with alternate 18mm versions. When it comes to waterproofing, the watch has an IP67 certification and can be dunked in 1 meter of water for half an hour.

The Moto 360 Sport is also a round-bodied smartwatch but only features silicone on its case. Straps for the device are also made from silicone and blend into the case of the device. As for colors, the straps come in black, white and orange. Coming to its water and dust resistant features, the device is not waterproof and has an IP67 certification.

Both these smartwatches run Android Wear and can be paired with iOS and Android devices.

Display

On the Huawei Watch is an AMOLED display measuring approximately 1.4 inches, which comes with a resolution of 400 x 400 pixels and a density of 286 pixels per inch. As for the Moto 360 Sport, it has an AnyLight Hybrid Display measuring 1.37 inches with a resolution of 360 x 325 pixels and a density 263 pixels per inch. Over it is layered Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection.

Specs

The processor on the Moto 360 Sport is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 version and it is coupled with a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2 GHz along with 4 GB internal storage and 512 MB RAM. There is a similar processor on the Huawei Watch and it too has 4 GB storage and 512 MB RAM.

Sensors

Here, the Moto 360 Sport has built-in GPS, a barometer, gyroscope, altimeter, accelerometer, heart rate sensor and ambient light sensor. As for the Huawei Watch, it comes with a heart rate sensor, vibration motor, gyroscope, barometer and accelerometer.

Price

The Moto 360 Sport has a price tag of $299 while the starting model of the Huawei Watch costs $350.
