Otaku or anime enthusiasts were enthralled when reports were finally able to state a release date for chapter 361 of manga "Hunter X Hunter." February 2017 was the supposed release date of the chapter. However, Shueisha, the manga's production house, recently expressed that a February 2017 release would be impossible since the mangaka or the author is still unwell.

According to reports, the production for the manga is currently on hiatus because the author has been suffering from lower back pains.

The Japanese manga "Hunter X Hunter" has always been illustrated and written by Yoshihiro Togashi. But recent reports seem to suggest that new writers might take over the popular manga series.

The word on the street is that Togashi will serve as a consultant while other mangaka continue his job. The production house had reportedly considered this, but they feared that the mangaka might not be able to match Togashi's artistry and creativity. A Shueisha representative allegedly announced that they cannot confirm a release date as of the moment as Togashi is unable to sit and write for longer periods of time.

"Hunter X Hunter" went into hiatus right when things were getting interesting in the Dark Continent arc.

For the uninitiated, "Hunter X Hunter" follows the life of a 12-year-old kid named Gon Freecss. He sets out on a journey to become a Hunter. Upon taking his hunter examination, he makes new friends — Kurapika, Leorio, Killua — and he learns that his absentee father is alive and is a renowned Hunter.

Hopefully, Togashi will feel better soon so he can continue his well-loved series. With a bit of luck, the author might be able to release chapter 361 sometime next year.
