Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev news: 'The Vampire Diaries' co-stars Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev catch up over dinner with Nikki Reed
"The Vampire Diaries" alum Nina Dobrev recently caught up with her ex-boyfriend and former co-star Ian Somerhalder with his wife Nikki Reed over dinner.

Despite all the rumors, there appears to be no rift between the exes, especially between Reed and Dobrev, who were already close friends when Dobrev and Somerhalder were still dating. Although Reed went off and married Somerhalder, all is well between the three.
Dobrev shared their little get-together on Instagram, finally putting an end to the rumors about their tension. Meanwhile, Reed shared quite a lengthy letter on Instagram addressing all the hate and the speculation surrounding their friendship.
According to the "Twilight" alum, they deliberately avoided gossip linking them to headlines about "friends backstabbing friends" and "cheating exes" because they were merely baseless rumors. However, she has come to realize that their silence only perpetuated the problem, adding more horrendous rumors to the ever-growing stack of celebrity gossip.
She wrote, "I now see that silence was taken as an opportunity to fill in the blanks with even more falsities, and juicer stories, and we, yes WE, believe we have a moral responsibility to young girls to end that narrative, because at the end of all of this, those young girls are the ones who lose."
Now that Dobrev has confirmed her return to the final episodes of "The Vampire Diaries," these issues have been reignited. Reed believes that what the media is doing, how they have set up this false story about betrayal and anger, only teaches women how to hate other women. By addressing the issue, Reed hopes that the media will finally stop tarnishing Dobrev and Somerhalder's genuine desire and passion to continue "The Vampire Diaries."
Dobrev and Somerhalder dated for a few years up until 2013. Nearly two years later, Somerhalder married Reed after a year of dating.
