iOS 9.2 jailbreak news: Italian developer successful with 9.2.1; refuses to release tool

Pangu 9 and TaiG are working hard to jailbreak iOS 9.2, but Apple's operating system seems to be a tough guy to deal with. Luca Todesco, an Italian developer who is more popularly known on Twitter as @qwertyoruiop, has the same assessment.
Apple users who have jailbroken earlier versions of iOS 9 are advised not to update to any later versions anymore.
psa: 9.2 is much harder to jailbreak than 9.1, so if you are on 9.1, don't update.

While all hopes seem to be gone for Apple users, Todesco later announced that he was able to jailbreak iOS 9.2.1 on his iPhone 6. He posted a screenshot of the beta working with Cydia, the jailbreaking and tweaking app.

However, the Italian developer refused to release the new jailbreak tool even though a lot of his Twitter followers have been encouraging him to. There are speculations as to why Todesco would never release the tool. One is that Apple may find the bug and the vulnerability and try to patch the tool in an iOS 9.3 update.
Users may have to wait for Pangu or TaiG to release an untethered tool for iOS 9.2.1. Apple is still running it on beta testing, and the wait may have to take a while.
The shocking news arrived on Jan. 11, though, as Apple dropped the news of iOS 9.3 with three new features. These are Smart Education Upgrades, Night Shift, and 3D Touch Matures.
But Todesco was fast. He posted proof on his Youtube channel that he has already jailbroken Apple's latest system update. According to a report, Todesco may have used the same exploit he did for the iOS 9.2.1.
The current status of iOS 9.1 and iOS 9.2 is still unsure, though. Neither of the two have been jailbroken yet. With the iOS 9.3 jailbreak tool from Todesco already available, many users are now convinced that waiting for the release of iOS 9.3 in a few more weeks may be more worth it.
