iPhone 6 vs. Moto Droid Turbo: Apple's upperhand is the design

The iPhone 6 might be considered the device to beat among smartphone competitors but there are several others that provide great value for money and much better battery life and the Droid Turbo is at the top of this heap. Here is how the rugged and sturdy-looking device from Motorola compares to the premium iPhone 6.

Design

When it comes to design, the iPhone 6 has the very best. It has a metal unibody, which features beautiful chamfered edges and it comes with a fingerprint scanner, which has become the hallmark of many flagship and highend smartphones. The Droid Turbo, on the other hand, has a plastic body with square edges with capacitive keys on the front. The only premium element on this device is the metal band running around its edge, which works as an antenna. As for its back panel, it comes with either Kevlar or ballistic nylon, which come in three colors, red black and blue.

Display

For users who are looking for a budget-friendly phone with a large and vivid display, the Droid Turbo is the perfect phone. It has a bigger and sharper screen, which has been considered one of the best in the market. It uses a super AMOLED screen measuring 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 565 pixels per inch while the iPhone 6 has an IPS LCD screen measuring 4.7 inches with a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels and a density of 326 pixels per inch.

Specs

The Droid Turbo and the iPhone 6 are equally fast, though they are equipped with different hardware. Apple's device comes with an Apple A8 chipset, a Cyclone CPU with two cores clocked at 1.4 GHz and a PowerVR GX6450 GPU. On the Droid Turbo is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, a Krait 450 CPU with four cores clocked at 2.7 GHz and an Adreno 420 GPU.

Memory

Both phones do not allow for the addition of external storage as they do not come with memory slots. As for their RAM, the iPhone 6 has 1 GB while the Droid Turbo has 3 GB.

Battery

On the iPhone 6 is a 1810 mAh battery which provides up to 14 hours of talk time while the Droid Turbo comes with a massive 3900 mAh battery, which can last up to 48 hours.

Price

The Droid Turbo is much cheaper than the iPhone 6. It costs $99 with a two-year contract while the iPhone 6 costs $199 with a similar contract.
