With a number of budget and midrange flagship smartphones in the market, it is no surprise that the iPhone 6s Plus is facing a lot of competition and mostly from the Moto X Style, which was recently released by Motorola.

Design

There is little doubt that the iPhone 6s Plus from Apple is the premium device and its build reflects this. It comes with a metal unibody crafted from 7000 series aluminum making it less prone to bending. Additionally, it incorporates a fingerprint scanner into the home button. As for the Moto X Style it has a metal frame, but it can be completely customized on the Moto Maker website where customers can choose from different colored frames. According to Gizmag.com, there are also various colored metal accents and back panels made from silicone, leather and wood. However, it does not have a fingerprint scanner but comes with many more color options than its competitor which only has four gold, silver, rose gold and space gray.

Display

The display of the Moto X Style is slightly bigger and it has a 5.7-inch screen rendering a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and density of 520 pixels per inch (PPI). As for the iPhone 6s Plus, it has a big advantage in its 3D Touch technology which can sense the amount of pressure being applied by the user on the screen. However, its 5.5-inch IPS LCD screen is less dense and has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and density of 401 pixels per inch.

Specs

In the specs department, the Moto X Style cannot keep up as it has an older Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, coupled with a hexa-core CPU comprised of two Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.44 GHz along with an Adreno 418 GPU. As for the iPhone 6s Plus, it has Apple's latest and improved A9 chipset, coupled with a dual-core CPU clocked at 1.84 GHz and a PowerVR GT7600 GPU.

Memory

Gizmag.com reports that there is no memory slot on iPhone 6s Plus, which is not surprising. On the other hand, the memory on the Moto X Style can be expanded via the microSD slot which supports up to 128 GB. Coming to RAM, here the Moto X Style is ahead with 3 GB while the iPhone 6s Plus has 2 GB.

Camera

The Moto X Style features a 21-megapixel camera, while the iPhone 6s Plus has 12-megapixel version with OIS.

Price

In terms of price, the 16 GB iPhone 6s Plus costs $299 with a two year contract, while the Moto X Style is available as the Pure Edition and has a price tag of $399 unlocked.
