With Apple unveiling the iPhone 6s yesterday and opening pre-orders on Sept. 12, it is time to compare the device to the other flagship devices in the market, especially to its main rival, the Samsung Galaxy S6.

Design

The iPhone 6s still has a metal unibody but it is now made of 7000 series aluminum alloy, making it a lot tougher and more durable. As for colors, there are four options available, rose gold, silver, gold, space gray. It also comes with a fingerprint scanner. As for the Galaxy S6, it has a metal frame and Gorilla Glass 4 on its front and back. Just like the iPhone 6s, it also has a fingerprint scanner. It is offered in white, black, gold and blue.

Display

In terms of display size, the iPhone 6s is much smaller. It only comes with a 4.7 inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels and a density of 326 pixels per inch. However, it has Force Touch technology, which has the ability to sense pressure and display various options depending on how hard the user is pressing. The Galaxy S6 has a 5.1-inch super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 577 pixels per inch.

Specs

There is a 64-bit A9 chip on the iPhone 6s but Apple has yet to release any other details about the hardware. The Galaxy S6, however, comes with an Exynos 7420 chipset, coupled with an octa-core CPU comprised of four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2.1 GHz and a Mali-T760MP8 GPU.

Memory

There is no memory slot on either device so external storage cannot be added. However, in terms of RAM, reports say Apple only equipped their device with 1 GB, while the Galaxy S6 has 3 GB onboard.

Camera

The iPhone 6s now has a 12 megapixel camera which can shoot 4K videos. The Galaxy A6 has a 16 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization and it has the ability to record 4K videos.

Price

The iPhone 6s and the Samsung Galaxy S6 each costs $199 with a two-year contract.
