With the iPhone 6 already making a name in the market, consumers are already speculating about the features of the iPhone 7, but it seems the excitement may be in vain as rumor has it that the next-generation smartphone will need Apple's own headphones.

According to Digital Spy, recent rumors suggest that the upcoming phone will divert from the use of the usual 3.5 mm audio jack. This means Apple might have decided to make its own headphones or might go as far as waving good-bye to physical headphones that consumers are used to.

It is said that the new iPhone will make use of Bluetooth-integrated cans to replace headphones that are undeniably the trend ever since the smartphone market saw a boost years back.

N4BB News further reports that speculations around the new device suggest the use of a Lightning compatible earphone for music or making calls. The news may come as a disappointment to those expecting Apple's standard headphones jack.

Before the rumors emerged, there have been reports that the tech giant is planning to erase the headphone jack for design purposes. While many users would love to see a slimmer and lighter iPhone, some still couldn't grasp the logic behind having the need to stop using headphones for a slimmer smartphone.

Meanwhile, other rumors suggest that the upcoming iPhones will feature a dual-lens hardware for improved photo-capturing. With the rumored LinX technology, users can work with zooming without affecting the image's quality. Aside from improved zooming, users can also explore split-focus features that enable choosing between various focus points after a certain shot has been snapped.

Finally, it is expected that Apple will improve screen specs as some consumers have complained that the iPhone 7's predecessor has slight issues with resolution. It is then believed that the new iPhone will run on full HD, meaning fans will finally experience top-of-the-line 3D touch-friendly display.

The iPhone 7 is rumored to enter the market sometime in September 2016.
