iPhone SE vs Xiaomi Mi 5 specs comparison: Device from Apple is costlier and smaller

While it is too early to say whether the iPhone SE will turn out to be the king of small-screen smartphones, it has a bigger rival in the form of the Xiaomi Mi 5, which is slowly but surely rolling out throughout the world. Here is how these two devices compare in a face-off.

Design

When it comes to design, the iPhone SE comes with all the strengths of Apple's lineup including a metal unibody. Its corners are curved and it has great looks, as for its fingerprint scanner, it is positioned along with the home button. As for colors, the iPhone SE comes in space gray, gold, rose gold, and silver. Coming to the Mi 5, it has a metal frame but glass is on its back panel and there is also a ceramic black version. The fingerprint scanner is included along with the home button and the device comes in white, gold, black, and ceramic.

Display

In terms of display size, the Mi 5 is ahead as it has an IPS LCD version measuring 5.15 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and density of 428 pixels per inch. On the iPhone SE is an IPS LCD display measuring 4.0 inches with a resolution of 640 x 1136 pixels and density of 326 pixels per inch.

Specs

On board the iPhone SE is an Apple A9 chipset, and it is coupled with a dual-core CPU and a PowerVR GT7600 GPU. As for the Xiaomi Mi 5, it has a Snapdragon 820 chipset, coupled with a quad-core CPU and an Adreno 530 GPU.

Memory

There is no memory slot on the Mi 5 and the same is true for the iPhone SE. As for RAM, the device from Xiaomi either has 3 GB or 4 GB on board, while the iPhone SE comes with 2 GB.

Camera

Here, the iPhone SE has a 12-megapixel camera, while the Mi 5 boasts of a 16-megapixel version.

Price

The iPhone SE is priced at $399 unlocked, while the starting edition of the Mi 5 costs $260 unlocked.
