'Iron Man 4' cast news, rumors: Nathalie Emmanuel to play Riri Williams?

(Facebook/Avengers)Will "Iron Man 4" introduce Riri Williams, the new Iron Man in the comic book?

In July, Marvel announced the arrival of a teenage girl who will replace Tony Stark as "Iron Man" in the comic books. While there is no official word if this will also be done in the hit movie series, some are speculating that the great Robert Downey Jr. will soon be replaced as the main protagonist.

Downey has played the iconic role for years and many fans wouldn't want to see him lay down the iron suit. The actor has personalized the character and it almost seems impossible to see someone else in his stead.

On the other hand, "Iron Man 4" has not been announced yet and some are starting to lose hope for the sequel. Adding to that is the arrival of Riri Williams to the Marvel world. Rumor has it that Riri's story may be depicted in the fourth installment of the hit franchise. If this happens, it's only getting clearer that Downey's Tony Stark will soon hand over the baton to the younger generation.

As early as now, there are already a number of stars who are implying that they would like to bag the role. One of them is Nathalie Emmanuel from "Game of Thrones." According to Games Radar, the actress revealed during the San Diego Comic-Con last month that she would like to play the role of "Iron Man" if given the chance.

(Instagram/Nathalie Emmanuel)Nathalie Emmanuel recently expressed interest in playing the role of a lady "Iron Man." Is she the perfect fit to play Riri Williams?

Emmanuel added that the reason behind such is because she would like to see herself defeating enemies while still retaining science intelligence that not just anyone can beat. Will Marvel pick up Emmanuel's comments and soon announce "Iron Man 4"?

Downey has yet to comment on the report but apparently, Emmanuel is a fan of his too. "I quite like the Iron Man films. There seems to be this issue of women in the technology and science films and things like that, and I think the idea of playing some sort of science whiz that also kicks butt like Iron Man could be fun," she said during the conference.

Even though Emmanuel has expressed interest in the role, the decision may depend largely on the people's acceptance of Riri in the comics. Yibada notes that despite Downey getting older, it would still be difficult for viewers to see another person in the suit.
