'iZombie' season 2 cast news: 'Veronica Mars' star Kristen Bell to lend her voice on the series' 11th episode 'Fifty Shades of Grey Matter'

It's just her voice but fans of "Veronica Mars" will undoubtedly appreciate the fact that Kristen Bell and Rob Thomas will be reunited in an upcoming episode of "iZombie."
Entertainment Weekly reported that Kristen Bell, who played Veronica on the popular teen-oriented crime drama show, will be lending her voice in episode 11 of "iZombie" season 2. It will be a reunion of sorts for Bell and "iZombie" creator Rob Thomas, as the two previously worked together on "Veronica Mars."
The episode, titled "Fifty Shades of Grey Matter," is slated to air on Jan. 26 and will see Liv (Rose McIver) ingesting the brain of a young librarian who was apparently poisoned. As it turns out, the victim was also an erotic fiction writer. There are no details yet on what exactly Bell's voice-over duty entails.
The 35-year-old actress is an old hand when it comes to voiceover-only roles, having done the narration on "Gossip Girl" for six seasons. But what fans undoubtedly know her for today is her turn as the voice of Anna in Disney's smash hit "Frozen."
Bell is just the latest "Veronica Mars" star to guest on the zombie series as alums Adam Rose (Byron Thistlewaite), Daran Norris (Johnny Frost), David Starzyk (Terrence Fowler), Percy Daggs III (Sean Taylor) and Ryan Hansen (Carson McComb) had all previously appeared on the show.
"Veronica Mars" revolved around Veronica, a high school student who also worked as a private investigator. The show lasted for three seasons and saw the character moving from high school to college. But despite getting critical acclaim, the series was not successful - ratings wise. However, the show's cult-like following remained loyal, as evidenced by the successful Kickstarter campaign for a "Veronica Mars" movie.
In lieu of a reunion, fans can just continue to watch "iZombie" as more "Veronica Mars"- centric stuff is headed to the show.
"iZombie" season 2 returns with episode 10 on Jan. 12 on The CW.
