'iZombie' season 3 spoilers, release date: Greg Finley to reprise role in one episode

While fans wait for the season 3 return of the dark comedy series "iZombie," it is recently reported that actor Greg Finley will reprise his role as Liv's (Rose McIver) former boyfriend Drake.
According to TV Line, Finley will appear in one episode of the upcoming "iZombie" season 3. Drake was last seen in the finale of the second season getting killed by Liv in exchange for Clive's (Malcolm Goodwin) life.
The same report also reveals that Drake will appear in the yet-to-be-titled episode 10 of "iZombie" season 3. In the said episode, lead character Liv devours the brains of a mentally disturbed man who is being haunted by his dead wife. After eating the brain, Liv ends up getting haunted as well. It is possible that Drake haunts Liv and could lead to more complications to her mission.
Apart from Finley, "iZombie" season 3 will also expect the appearances of "Veronica Mars" alum Jason Dohring, who will portray the role as Vivian Stoll's brother-in-law. Meanwhile, Natalie Alyn Lind of "The Goldbergs" is also set to appear.
Meanwhile, showrunner Rob Thomas shared on Entertainment Weekly about next season.
"The number of zombies in Seattle is going up at an alarming rate, and it's high time someone capitalized on the undead's desire to socialize with their own kind," Thomas said. "We originally named the establishment Coldcock's, but apparently that's the name of a brand of booze, so we settled on our second choice, The Scratching Post."
In other news, there are rumors that "iZombie" season 3 could be the series' last run. Apparently, the series ratings performance is declining compared to that in the first season. However, the bosses behind the series are confident that the show wouldn't end with just three seasons. They may put a new story arc that could refresh the series.
"iZombie" season 3 is expected to premiere in the first quarter of 2017.
