'Jane the Virgin' season 3 episode 2 spoilers: Rogelio tries American TV

The upcoming episode of "Jane the Virgin" season 3 will see Rogelio (Jaime Camil) attempting his best at an American accent when he decides to venture out from telenovelas.
A synopsis has been released for the second episode of the third season. Titled, "Chapter Forty-Six," it reveals that Rogelio will discover that his nemesis in the telenovela industry is going to make the move to American television. As a result, he will also attempt to cross over. Xo (Andrea Navedo) will try hard to keep her secret from Alba (Ivonne Coll), but she will grow fearful that she will find out and that it will make an impact on their relationship.
Meanwhile, Rafael (Justin Baldoni) and Jane (Gina Rodriguez) will find themselves at odds when they discover that they have conflicting parenting styles. The two will fight about where to send their son, Mateo, for preschool. Finally, Anezka (Yael Grobglas) will try to dig some dirt on Rafael, but she will instead find romance.
An extended trailer for the new episode has also been released and it teases Rogelio's transition to American TV, starting with perfecting his American accent. However, his co-workers don't seem to believe in him. Michael (Brett Dier) helps him out with his accent and cut scenes of Rogelio hilariously trying out different phrases are seen.
The premiere episode of season 3 saw Michael surviving the gunshot he received during the season 2 finale. He went under surgery and is on the road to recovery. However, the narrator said something that alluded to the character somehow not being in the clear yet. And according to executive producer Jennie Urman, "it's a reliable narrator."
While speaking to TVLine, Urman further detailed that Michael's injury will not be without effects, especially when it comes to his marriage with Jane. "It has lasting ramifications for the character, which you'll start to see [in terms of] when he can return to work, if he can return to work, how his life is changed as a result of this. It takes him in a new direction," she said.
"Jane the Virgin" season 3 airs Mondays at 9/8c on The CW.
