Jide Remix Mini price: first true Android PC for sale on Amazon for $70

The Jide Remix Mini is a small and portable PC that claims to be the world's first true Android PC. The tiny PC was first launched last summer as a Kickstarter campaign and backers were able to avail of the device for $20. It created Kickstarter history when the company was able to raise $1.6 million, a lot more than its $50,000 request.

Now, the Remix Mini is now available to purchase on Amazon for $70.

The Remix Mini runs on the Remix 2.0 OS which is based on the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. The device provides users with a true Android desktop experience. When the device is fully connected, the Remix Mini can be used to work on documents, browse the internet, stream videos or play games.

The pebble-shaped device is small and stylish. In terms of dimensions, it is 124.27 mm tall, 88.20 mm wide and 26 mm thick. It is light at just 0.91 pounds.

The Remix Mini is powered by a quad-core 1.2 GHz 64-bit Cortex A53 Allwinner processor with 2 GB of RAM. There is 16 GB of internal storage but can support up to 128 GB of expanded storage via a microSD card slot.

There is an HDMI output so that the Remix Mini can be connected a monitor. There is support for 1920 x 1080 resolution. There are also two USB ports that can be connected to a mouse and a keyboard. The Remix Mini also comes with a power jack and audio port. For connectivity, there is an Ethernet port, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. The Remix Mini also comes with a capacitive button that can power up the device, turn it off or put it to sleep. 

Users have access to the Remix Store and the Google Play Store and choose among 1.5 million apps. According to Liliputing, the Remix Mini works best with media-focused apps like Netflix and YouTube.

For those who purchase the Remix Mini, Jide is offering 90 days of support and a one-year limited warranty.
