Several reports about the upcoming release of the game "Kingdom Hearts 3" suggest that Kairi and Lea might be training to become keyblade wielders themselves.

In the "Kingdom Hearts" concert held in Tokyo last March 10, voice actor Rise Uchida (giving voice to Kairi and Xion) read some parts of her script in one episode of the game.

One of the more important takeaways from the script was translated as: "I didn't notify you, but you might've already heard from Yen Sid. I've come to train to become a keyblade wielder. Until now, I've only been waiting for you guys to come back from your journey. Maybe with this, I can at least help out a little...Lea's training with me. He apologized to me over and over again. It's alright, I'd say, but he'd keep on apologizing. At first I was a bit scared, but as we trained together, we started talking to each other."

Other updates include the introduction of a "Rock Troll," which the protagonists will face as the "mid-boss" or a "mini-boss." This was confirmed with the release of a screenshot by Square Enix, the game developer, with game director Tetsuya Nomura reaffirming the photo through an interview with the magazine Famitsu.

Another screenshot released by Square Enix is the image of a Keyblade transformation. Nomura explained the image and further said that the attack–defense dichotomy when transforming Keyblades will not always be the case now for the upcoming game. However, it will still depend upon the Keyblade type.

In terms of the highly-demanded character customization feature, developers are looking at the possibility of including the feature in the upcoming "Kingdom Hearts 3." The developers, however, were quick to add that this is not their priority at the moment, which could mean that it is possible for them to do away with the plan.

There is no definite date for the release of the game as of the moment. With the release of the "Kingdom Hearts 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue," the game might come sooner than expected. It will be available on Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
