The development for the third installment of "Kingdom Hearts" has been going on for almost a decade, so to say that fans of the franchise are getting antsy to find out more about the title is a huge understatement.

Thankfully, since the recently concluded E3 2015, more tidbits of information about the game have been released. While the details that have surfaced do not even scratch the plot and cast of the title, they nonetheless reignited the anticipation and excitement for "Kingdom Hearts 3."

"Kingdom Hearts," which was first introduced almost fifteen years ago in 2012, is an action role-playing video game produced by a collaboration between Square Enix and Disney Interactive Studios. It follows the main character, Sora, as he tries to defeat the evil Heartless with the iconic weapon, the Keyblade.

The upcoming title, "Kingdom Hearts III," would be the eighth installment of the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise. Last month during E3, the trailer for the game was unveiled. The trailer as expected featured the new and improved Sora. It also showed an area that looks vaguely inspired by the Disney movie, Tangled.

While the tease showcasing Sora's current outfit and Rapunzel's kingdom are very exciting, these are spoilers fans already knew about even before the trailer's release.

In multiple interviews before the convention, "Kingdom Hearts" director, Tetsuya Nomura, already confirmed the two specific changes and addition to the game. Thankfully, the series director further hinted in an interview that at the very least, fans should expect newer Disney characters to appear in "Kingdom Hearts 3."

"Previously, I was dealing with classic works. This time, I have adopted a relatively new work. It's so I can directly see the people who have been involved in that series. There are many times we have exchanged words while producing it so it can be represented more accurately."

A confirmation on when "Kingdom Hearts 3" would be officially released has yet to be announced.
