LG G Flex 2 vs. Nexus 6: Curved G Flex 2 versus the Nexus 6, which one is better?

The G Flex 2 might be more aesthetically pleasing but when it comes to size, Motorola's Nexus 6 has the edge. Here is how the whale-sized device Motorola built for Google compares to the curved phablet from LG.

Design

The outstanding feature of the G Flex 2 is its arc that runs from top to bottom. The decise has a curved body and screen, which is made mostly of flexible plastic. On its back panel, is a layer of unique material, which as LG promised and assured, LG heals minor scratches within 15 seconds. The G Flex 2 only comes in silver and red. The Nexus 6, on the other hand, is also made of plastic and like other Motorola devices, it has a dimple on its back, which makes it ergonomically easier to hold. There is also a noteable metal band which runs around its edge, giving the Nexus 6 a premium feel and hold. 

Display

In terms of displays, the Nexus 6 has a clear advantage when it comes to quality and size. It uses an AMOLED screen measuring 5.96 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 493 pixels per inch while the G Flex 2 has a curved P-OLED screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 403 pixels per inch.

Specs

The hardware on the G Flex 2 gives it an edge over the Nexus 6 as it is faster. It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, an octa-core CPU comprised of four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2 GHz and Adreno 430 GPU. On the Nexus 6 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, a Krait 450 CPU with four cores clocked at 2.7 GHz and Adreno 420 GPU.

Memory

The G Flex 2 provides users additional storage of up to 128 GB as it comes with a memory slot. Those who opt for the Nexus 6, however, would have to make do with the internal storage it comes with. In terms of RAM, the 16 GB model of the G Flex 2 comes with 2 GB while its 32 GB model has 3 GB. As for the Nexus 6, it has 3 GB of RAM.

Camera

Both phones have 13 megapixel cameras, which come with the optical image stabilization feature.

Price

The LG G Flex 2 costs $299 with a two year contract while the Nexus 6 has a price tag of $249 with a similar contract.
