There is very little similarity between the flagship G4 from LG and the HTC One M9 but there is no doubt that they are two of the best looking devices which were released this year. This is how the leather-encased G4 compares to the metal-bodied One M9 .

Design

The One M9 often emerges as the winner in this category as it has a highly polished metal unibody that comes in gray, gold and a silver/gold combination. It also has a finger print scanner just below the display, a feature not present on the LG G4.

As for the G4, it is larger and falls into the phablet category. It has a curve running from top to bottom dubbed the "SlimArc" which protects the device in case of accidental drops. As for the body, it is made of plastic but its default back panel is made of polycarbonate in gray, gold and ceramic white. However, there are high quality replacement panels crafted from leather which can be bought.

Display

The display on the G4 is bigger. It consists of an IPS LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and density of 538 pixels per inch while the One M9 comes with a super LCD3 screen measuring 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 565 pixels per inch.

Specs

The specs on these devices are pretty similar even though they have different processors. The the One M9 has a Mediatek MT6795T chipset, along with an octa-core CPU clocked at 2.2 GHz and a PowerVR G6200 GPU. As for the G4, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset a hexa-core CPU comprised of four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.44 GHz and two Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 1.82 GHz along with an Adreno 418 GPU.

Memory

Each device has a memory slot and it can be used to add up to 128 GB of external storage. Each has 3 GB of RAM onboard.

Price

The LG G4 is priced at $199 with a two-year contract while the HTC One M9 is available through various retail websites for $650.
