LG Watch Urbane 2nd edition vs Moto 360: Smartwatch from LG has an unbeatable advantage

This year, one of the most talked about smartwatches has been the LG Watch Urbane 2nd edition as it comes with cellular connectivity. However, it still has to deal with the Moto 360 which has been frequently termed as the best smartwatch of last year. This is how these devices compare.

Design

When it comes to design, the Moto 360 has a steel case that is round and it come in three colors black, gold and silver. There are straps for the device in leather and there are also matching versions available in silver and gold color. Additionally the straps can be swapped out with any standard 22 mm version available in the market. As for its water and dust proof rating it has an IP67 rating and so can remain immersed in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.

As for the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition it too has a round body made from stainless steel, and it comes in blue, black, white and brown. Additionally there are bands created from elastomer but these have hardware components in them and so they cannot be swapped out. Finally it too has an IP67 rating and it comes with a SIM card which allows users to receive and make calls without using the paired smartphone.

Both these devices run Android Wear but since the Watch Urbane 2Nd edition was released recently it can be paired with both iOS and Android devices while the Moto 360 only pairs with Android devices.

Display

When it comes to display size and quality, the Watch Urbane 2nd edition has a 1.38 inch P-OLED version with a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels and a density of 348 pixels per inch. The Moto 360 has a LCD display measuring 1.56 inches with resolution of 320 x 290 pixels and a density of 205 pixels per inch. Additionally the display of the Moto 360 has a blank space at the bottom which contains its sensors so it is not fully round.

Specs

There is a TI OMAP 3 processor on the Moto 360 while its competitor has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz. Each of these smartwatches has 4 GB onboard storage but when it comes to RAM, the Watch Urbane 2nd edition has 768MB while the Moto 360 has 512MB.

Sensors

The Moto 360 and its competitor both have heart rate sensors. As for other sensors, the Moto 360 has a pedometer while its competitor has a gyroscope, barometer, GPS, accelerometer and compass.

Price

The Moto 360 costs around $150 on retail websites, while the price of the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition has not been revealed.
