New updates on the supposed engagement between the stars of VH1's "Love & Hip Hop New York" MariahLynn and DJ Self have been revealed when she posted a message on her Instagram account to clear up the rumors.

According to MariahLynn, it is not true that DJ Self proposed to her. Rumors of the hookup claim that she said "yes" to the proposal via another social media post. MariahLynn answered a fan's comment which had a screenshot of a report by Media Take Out that the two were indeed about to get married. The reality star replied with a "Why would you want to read lies" message.

MariahLynn previously got in between Rich Dollaz and Cisco Rosado in the VH1 series. DJ Self, on the other hand, cheated on his girlfriend Yorma with Cardi B. He and Cardi B then called it quits for Yorma, but he still messed things up when he had an affair with another woman named Rose. Before the clarification that they are not dating, some viewers thought that he and MariahLynn were two peas in a pod with their failed relationships and that they suited each other well.

Meanwhile, DJ Self was put in the hot seat during the second part of the "Love & Hip Hop: New York" season 6 reunion over his romance issues. When asked if he slept with Rose, he feigned ignorance, stating that he did not remember. The woman then revealed that they did, causing Yorma to freak out. Yorma could not believe that DJ Self would have coitus with someone else while they were still together.

Cardi B, on the other hand, was already over the drama with DJ Self and was very much into her new fiancé Tommy. She said that they met at a strip club and were inseparable ever since. Cardi B also defended her choice to marry her boyfriend while he was still in jail, saying she would gladly marry him anywhere.
