This year could be big in the world of laptops and other devices as it is widely speculated that Apple will be launching its MacBook Pro a day after Microsoft's Surface PC event.

It would be a great idea if the MacBook Pro 2016 comes sometime this month so it can potentially go head-to-head with Microsoft's upcoming Surface device, which is expected to be introduced sometime late October. These two devices have long been pitted against the other and this year, it could be the time to see which is better in performance, specs, and added features.

According to Mac World, recent reports point to an Oct. 27 release for the new MacBook Pro. It's been over a year since the technology giant updated its MacBooks so a 2016 launch is reasonable enough to keep fans interested in the flagship.

The outlet further notes that Apple has decided to move its quarterly reports on earnings and sales from Oct. 25 to Oct. 27 since it is looking to deliver a huge launch at this time for the new Mac flagships.

It is also worth noting that the company has said there will be a dip on iPhone sales by the fourth quarter of 2016 and the decline will purportedly be followed up with the MacBook Pro 2016's launch to somehow make up for the losses.

Meanwhile, it is speculated that the upcoming MacBook will feature a much slimmer design compared to its predecessors. It is also said to sport a flatter keyboard as well as the integration of AMD's new "Polaris" graphics processor which will supposedly improve user experience.

Other reports suggest that the upcoming MacBook Pro will sport an OLED display which will replace the physical function keys. This is an amazing change for the laptop if Apple decides to do so and it will surely boost the interest of consumers who are looking forward to the new releases.

While there are many other speculations about the device, Apple has not yet addressed any of the rumors so it is best to take them with a grain of salt until official announcements are made.
