Ever since Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 received a positive response from customers and critics alike, rumors started circulating that a Surface Pro 5 would eventually see the light of day. However, until now, Microsoft has not announced the official specs that will come with the new device nor a release date.

Despite that, rumors have still been circulating online surrounding the device. Here is a roundup of rumors that have plagued the Microsoft Surface Pro 5.

It is widely believed that Microsoft's new addition to the Surface Pro lineup will include a new Surface Pen and Dock. The Surface Pen will reportedly be in the form of a rechargeable stylus.

It has also been reported that that the Surface Pro 5 will come with Intel's Skylake processor. However, other rumors have pointed towards the Kaby Lake processor to be onboard the device. The Skylake processor was previously used on the Surface Pro 4, and an upgrade to the Kaby Lake processor is highly probable.

Aside from that, a 4K Display is also speculated to come with the Surface Pro 5, given that increasingly more devices are adopting the new display screen. A fingerprint sensor, which is considered a staple nowadays, is also reportedly going to be included within the Surface Pro 5, unlike the previous iteration which required a separate sensor to be purchased.

And with the current fast-paced lifestyle of the new generation, it would not be surprising if Microsoft worked on improving battery life for the Surface Pro 5. It has been rumored that the tech giant might be working on that since the previous Surface Pro device couldn't handle more energy-draining jobs like online video streaming.

Lastly, the idea of the device's release date has been tossed around a few times. Some reports say that the Surface Pro 5 will release in June or July of this year. However, Microsoft has already planned to unveil a Windows 10 update in June. As a result, many now believe that the release will fall in early 2017.
