Minecraft and Xbox One seem to have missed their targeted August launch, but the delay might not take much longer after 4J Studios has announced they have sent the Xbox One Edition over to Microsoft for certification.

"We've handed Minecraft: Xbox One Edition over to Microsoft for final test! #MinecraftXbox1," 4J Studios tweeted.

When a title enters the final series of tests, or certification, it means that the console manufacturer will independently look over the submitted game and evaluate whether it meets all specifications and requirements for release.

In the event that bugs and issues have been identified, Microsoft will go back to 4J Studios to resolve these before resubmitting. This is also where any delay usually happens.

The certification process normally takes a week or two to complete.

In May, Xbox has confirmed that Minecraft: Xbox One Edition is coming to the Xbox Live Marketplace in August.

"Get ready for even bigger worlds (with scenic vistas), all of your favorite features from "Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition" and the option to import your saved game data and your beautiful, one-of-a-kind "Minecraft" world onto your Xbox One," the official press release said.

The game will debut on Xbox One for $19.99, but Xbox 360 Minecraft players will be given a special offer of $4.99.

True to their word, Mojang has just released the "Bountiful Update" on Sept. 2.

"The 1.8 update is now published to the launcher! Your game should be updated automatically," Mojang posted on their website, Tuesday.

With nine developers working on the updates for 300 days, players can expect hefty new and exciting features to the well-loved sandbox indie game that conquered mainstream market.
