Moto 360 2 rumors gain steam with a Motorola device spotted at FCC

With the Motorola event, which was scheduled on July 28, over, and no sign of the Moto 360 2 smartwatch, the Internet has once again relied on rumors to predict when it will be launched. And another rumor insists that the smartwatch is about to be unveiled soon as it was just spotted at the FCC.

The Internet and several smartwatch aficionados were left deflated when Motorola did not reveal the next generation of the Moto 360 smartwatch during its recently concluded event. The tech company decided to focus instead on its smartphones and phablets.

With the unveiling of three new smartphone models, it seemed like they were enough to compensate for the absence of the new smartwatch; however, the nonappearance of the highly anticipated wrist device was keenly felt as many have been waiting for the popular line to be refreshed.

And not long after Motorola concluded the event, rumors immediately emerged suggesting that the company is planning to showcase the Moto 360 2 during the upcoming IFA exposition which is due to take place in September of this year.

Meanwhile, another rumor on Droid Life claims that the upcoming smartwatch has already been submitted to the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) for clearance.

Though there is no confirmation that the device spotted at the FCC is indeed the Moto 360 2, the rumor points out that the device had originated from Motorola Mobility and had the ID, IHDT6UA1. In addition to this, the FCC listing revealed that the smartwatch has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi onboard.

With Motorola having no other smartwatch offering, industry pundits have surmised that the device is indeed the Moto 360 2; and since it has been spotted at the FCC, many assume that the smartwatch could be very close to being launched.

Several rumors and leaks about the Moto 360 2 have been going on for months and earlier this year, a leak showed the alleged body of the device, which, just like its predecessor, is round. A big difference, however, is that the second generation offers customization options.
