Moto X vs. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: There's a reason the brilliant S6 Edge costs more

While the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge features a very unique dual-edge design and is considered one of the most beautiful smartphones of the year, the Moto X's edge is its wide range of customization options which make each phone unique to every user. Here is how the Moto X fare in comparison to the Galaxy S6 Edge.

Design

When it comes to design, the S6 Edge is miles ahead as its dual curved edges give the device jaw-dropping good looks. In addition, around it is a metal frame wrapped in Gorilla Glass 4. One of its dual edges can also be customized to display five important contacts and colors assigned to them when they call. It can also display news alerts, notifications and a night clock.

The Moto X, on the other hand, has a body made mostly of plastic, though it has a metal rim around its edge. Its main advantage, however, is the number of customization options available. On the Moto Maker site, customers can choose from a variety of materials such as wood and plastic for its back panel and even choose the front and side color of their phone.

Display

The display on the S6 Edge has better quality. It uses a Super AMOLED screen, measuring 5.1 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 577 pixels per inch. On the Moto X is an AMOLED screen measuring 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 424 pixels per inch.

Specs

The S6 Edge comes with an Exynos 7420 chipset, an octa-core CPU comprised of four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked 2.1 GHz and a Mali-T760MP8 GPU and is widely considered as the fastest smartphone of 2015. The Moto X is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset along with four Krait 400 cores clocked at 2.5 GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU.

Memory

Both the S6 Edge and the Moto X do not have memory slots, so external storage cannot be added. In terms of RAM, the Moto X has 2 GB while the S6 Edge has 3 GB.

Price

The Moto X is cheaper and costs $99 with a two-year contract while the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge costs $299 with a similar contract.
