'Mr. Robot' season 2 spoilers: 'Mr. Robot' draws attention of hackers and FBI

USA Network's "Mr. Robot" seemed to portray the cyberworld and how hackers do their trade so convincingly that it drew the attention of hackers and the FBI. Fortunately, the FBI issue was just part of their advertising campaign.
Recently, the show used a very creative advertising strategy on their website containing teasers and bonus features for the upcoming season. The advertising scheme draws its inspiration from how hackers break into a website.
The website asks visitors to input a new command line "fivenine" in order to gain access to the website. This generated some confusion at the beginning but upon closer look, it turns out that it represents May 9.

Once the user gains access, they will be greeted by a video teaser where a dubbed version of President Obama talks about the attack fsociety launched in the first season that has greatly affected the economy in an "extraordinarily significant" way. The President also declared that the guilty parties will receive the consequences of what they have done.
With that said, the FBI was tasked to investigate what happened in season 1 and a massive manhunt was made to locate all the fsociety members who were responsible for the hack. Grace Gummer will be the FBI agent who will lead the investigation and manhunt.
Meanwhile, a concerned hacker that goes by the name of Zemnmez contacted the show after he found out a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the show's website a day after it was launched. He said that the glitch can give a hacker access to the information of "Mr. Robot's" millions of fans worldwide.
The "white hat" hacker added that, "A threat actor with XSS on whoismrrobot.com could [have used] the XSS to inject Javascript, which inherits the ability to read Facebook information from the fsociety game. This could be done mostly silently if correctly engineered with a short popup window."
"Mr. Robot" is scheduled to return for its second season on July 13, Wednesday at 10 p.m. on the USA Network.
