Avery (Jonathan Jackson) is falling deeper into Layla's (Aubrey Peeples) charms in the upcoming episode of the hit ABC series "Nashville."."

In "If I Could Do It All Again," the promo reveals the pair exchanging flirty glances with each other. Ever since Avery told Layla the truth about Juliette's (Hayden Panettiere) rehab and their impending divorce, they have become closer. He feels that Layla empathizes with him, as she also experienced the same thing with her marriage to Will (Chris Carmack).

In the last episode, she opened up to Avery about her ex-husband. Layla said that getting a divorce was always painful but there was no substitute to being free. She said that Avery would have to overcome the difficulties that go along the separation before he could finally breathe easy. Prior to the heart-to-heart talk, Avery went to see Juliette in the rehab center. He wanted her to sign the divorce papers, but she did not want to see him.

Layla's words pushed Avery to confront his estranged wife and issue an ultimatum. She should tell the press they are getting a divorce or he would do it himself. Later that day, Juliette announced that she and her husband were separating. It broke her heart, but she had no choice. Still, she praised Avery in her statement, saying he was a wonderful father and a patient man. At the end of the scene, Avery could be seen taking off his wedding band with tears in his eyes. Is it really the end for the couple?

If Avery ends up having a relationship with Layla, there is no telling if he would be happy or not. Layla is keeping secrets of her own. It remains a mystery why she chose Avery as her producer, after learning that Jeff (Oliver Hudson) died saving Juliette. Her interest in Avery could be a ploy to make Juliette suffer for taking away the man that she loved.

"Nashville" season 4 episode 13 airs Wednesday, March 30, at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
