The NBA season may be over with the news of San Antonio Spurs winning the championship, but fans are just starting to warm up as excitement is already building for the upcoming NBA 2K15 release date.

The 2013-2014 Most Valuable Player, Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunders graces the cover of NBA 2K15.

Together with Visual Concepts, the NBA 2K franchise promises that the latest game will feature "unprecedented life-like graphics, ultra-realistic NBA gameplay, and more."

Dubbed as "The Most Valuable Players," the gameplay trailer showcased at the last E3 event highlighted Kevin Durant's talked-about MVP acceptance speech, along with some of the most valuable NBA 2K community members.

If, in 2K14, players enjoyed LeBron James' voice acting, NBA 2k15 will feature more basketball celebrities to act voice roles for MyPLAYER.

Confirmed voice-acting players are Al Jefferson, Andre Dummond, Trey Burke, Andre Iguodala, Al Horford, Gerald Wallace, Thaddeus Young, Brook Lopez, Channing Fry, Brandon Knight and 2K15's cover-player, Kevin Durant.

According to Gameranx, International MyTEAM cards are making its way to the NBA 2K15 and will be available in regions outside the US borders such as France, Germany, Italy and Australia.

Those confirmed for the International MyTEAM cards are Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Dirk Nowitzki, Ricky Rubio, Dante Exum, Marco Belinelli and Jeremy Lin.

The cards will also likely to feature legends Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain, and possibly future hall of famer Vince Carter.

NBA 2K15's release date has been scheduled for October 7 on the following platforms: PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.

NBA 2K15 can be pre-ordered online via Amazon ($59.96) and GameStop ($59.99).

Those who pre-orders the game will receive the "KD MVP Bonus Pack."

KD MVP Bonus Pack includes 5,000 virtual currency, Kevin Durant Throwback MyTEAM card, two MyTEAM card packs and MyPLAYER leg sleeves inspired by Durant.

Meanwhile, rivaling NBA Live 15, which is published by EA Sports, is also said to be launching their version of the video game on October 7, however this is currently only confirmed for Xbox One and PS4.

For undisclosed reasons, NBA Live developer Scott O'Gallagher left EA Sports and is joining the 2K team to bring his expertise to the development of future games in the franchise.
