"NBA 2K16" is set to be released at the end of the month and publisher "2K Sports" has been slowly releasing tidbits of information for gamers to ponder on.

The latest information to come out of the game's publisher is the point guard rankings. According to a tweet from "2K Sports," the top three point guards are Golden State's Stephen Curry at number 1 with a 93 rating. He's followed by the LA Clippers' Chris Paul (90) and Oklahoma City Thunder's Russell Westbrook (89).

The rest of the list includes Kyrie Irving and John Wall, with the Cavalier and the Wizard both enjoying a rating of 87. Portland's Damian Lillard, the Grizzlies' Mike Conley and the Bulls' Derrick Rose have garnered ratings of 86, 85 and 84, respectively. The Toronto Raptor's Kyle Lowry and the Atlanta Hawks' Jeff Teague round off the list with ratings of 83.

Aside from the top-ranked point guards, 2K Sports also revealed the 12 new classic teams that will be making an appearance in NBA 2K16. On top of the other older teams, the 2003/2004 Minnesota Timberwolves, 2006/2007 Cleveland Cavaliers and the 2004 Detroit Pistons have been included.

It's been said that the addition of the Timberwolves was a nod to the enduring popularity of Kevin Garnett. The 39-year-old Garnett remains to this day one of the most sought after and well-liked veterans, with fans (and the younger players) amazed at his longevity and his ability to remain healthy in this rugged and intense sport.

NBA fans will remember that the 2006/2007 Cleveland Cavaliers as the team that was led by a then-very young LeBron James. Unfortunately, his rookie year ended with the Cavs getting trampled on by the San Antonio Spurs.

There's also some not-so-good news on the Piston's front as leaked screenshots showed that Rasheed Wallace is missing from the lineup. What's worse is that team mates Corliss Williamson, Mehmet Okur and Mike James appear to have missed the cut as well.

Fans can expect more lists about the teams' rosters and rankings as a tweet from NBA 2K promised a Top 10 list every day.

"NBA 2K16" will be released on Sept. 29, 2015.
