Agent Sam Hanna was sent to Western Eritrea to get a special intel. Originally Callen had to go with Sam because they have to search for the whereabouts of Thomas Karume, an infamous warlord. Karume was almost captured by the African Standby Force but he ended up escaping the region.

So, Sam and Callen had the mission to hunt down Karume using the satellite pictures given to them but the images revealed more. It showed Karume and his followers, which could include the should-be-dead Jada Khaled. Jada was not killed by her brother Tahir after all. Her brother, who was once a warlord, apparently joined the group of Karume which is why Jada was spotted.

Meanwhile in L.A., Kensi and Deeks tried to look for more information about Karume and they ended up discovering a former child solider of Karume named Salim. Salim told the pair to submit a list of questions to the board of the Center for South Sudanese Justice in order to get their answers.

Kensi and Deeks decided to threated Salim to get the info they needed. Because of this, Karume's people in L.A. broke into Elmslie's house and the latter disappeared. She was then rescued by the CIA.

Later in the episode, Tahir and Karume were still being hunted down and Sam's family is still at risk.
