'NCIS' season 13 spoilers: Jon Cryer set to return for another episode; Ducky to conduct a unique autopsy in episode 14

The 13th episode of "NCIS" season 13 ended on a heart-warming note, despite a cruel human trafficking ring and a vicious cold front. The show will go on another short break before returning with episodes that feature a deep sea diver and the return of Dr. Cyril Taft.
The previous episode saw the "NCIS" team scrambling to find a human trafficking ring that preys on young women. Bishop (Emily Wickersham) was familiar with the case as she was part of the team that originally took down the group. It was later revealed that someone in the same team was responsible for the group's resurgence. The episode, "Déjà vu," started with Bishop questioning why she keeps doing her job when the bad guys seem endless. But after successfully shutting down the organization again and finding a warm place to sleep with her colleagues (in Gibbs' home), she finds a renewed determination and purpose.
That renewed sense of purpose will certainly come in handy in the next episode, as the team is faced with another challenging case. A synopsis for episode 14, "Decompressed," reveals that "when a deep sea diver is murdered on the job, his body and suspected co-workers must remain in a high-tech decompression chamber for four days."
Of course, solving a murder can't wait so Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his team would have to start conducting their investigation even while the suspects are all in the tank. It was previously reported that Ducky (David McCallum) would be conducting a unique autopsy and this would be it.
Another Duckie would be having a big moment this season as Jon Cryer is set to return to the series. The actor played a character named Duckie, Andie's lovable best friend, in the iconic romantic-comedy "Pretty in Pink." But as Dr. Cyril Taft, Cryer plays the highly skilled Navy surgeon who saved Gibbs' life and who has developed a kind of friendship with the taciturn "NCIS" leader.
EW reports that Cryer is set to reprise his role once more for the episode "Loose Cannons." According to showrunner Gary Glasberg, Dr. Taft will help Gibbs solve a case and finds that he likes it. The case in question involves the disappearance of weapons and ammunitions from a Naval base. The site also reports that aside from Cryer, Laura San Giacomo of "Just Shoot Me" fame will also be guesting and will play Taft's colleague Dr. Grace Confalone.
Fans will have to make do without a fresh episode of "NCIS" for the next two weeks. But their patience will no doubt be rewarded when "NCIS" season 13 airs its 14th episode on Feb. 9.
