'NCIS' season 14 episode 17 spoilers: Convicted criminal hides valuable item in apartment, director Vance may leave NCIS
"NCIS" season 14 takes a one week break this week and resumes next Tuesday with a shocking discovery regarding a case and a possible surprise change in the team in episode 17, titled "What Lies Above."
In the upcoming episode, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) team will help Special Agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) investigate his apartment after the latter discovers a robbery that left his place in shambles. It turns out that its previous lessee, who was a convicted criminal, has hidden a valuable item in the apartment.
In the promotional preview of the upcoming episode, Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) accompanies McGee in the interrogation area of where their suspect is jailed. The sneak peek teases that "every killer has a secret" as the convicted criminal Paul Triff (French Stewart) faces them. Triff simply laughs at the NCIS agents when they asked about what he did, while the trailer continued to show scenes of hidden items under McGee's bed and "inside a box" that left the entire NCIS team in shock.
Meanwhile, Congresswoman Jenna Flemming (Mary Stuart Masterson) will return to town once again with a different agenda. Spoilers reveal that she will be convincing NCIS Director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) to join politics and it is highly possible that the latter will oblige.
In the previous episode of the show, Flemming told Gibbs that he may sit on the "big chair" soon. When TVLine interviewed Emily Wickersham, who plays Special Agent Ellie Bishop in the series, regarding the matter, she admitted that she is also curious since it was a "big drop" and it will be a "big deal and a big shift." If Director Vance will indeed leave NCIS, Gibbs may become the director of the group.
Episode 17 of "NCIS" season 14 will air on Tuesday, March 7, at 8 p.m. E.S.T. on CBS.
