'NCIS' season 14 spoilers: Clayton to take Tony Dinozzo's place as regular?

Following the heart-warming and equally heart-wrenching finale of "NCIS" season 13, fans are eager to know who will replace Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) as a regular, and recently, rumors are pointing at MI6 officer Clayton Reeves (Duane Henry) to take on the spotlight.
For starters, the last episode of season thirteen saw Tony leaving his busy life behind as he ventured into fatherhood. While his flirtatious relationship with Ziva (Cote de Pablo) was never really confirmed until now, it was finally revealed that Tony fathered a child with her named Tali.
Seeing the child he never met and knew of, Tony decided to embark on a journey that would see him create a strong bond with Tali. Tony's departure broke the hearts of many fans but many are also looking forward to what the future will bring to the cast minus the great Tony.
In an interview with Deadline after season 13 wrapped up on May 17, executive producer Gary Glasberg teased the possibilities for Clayton and agent Tess Monroe (Sarah Clarke) once the fourteenth installment comes.
"We look at (Clarke and Henry's) terrific performances and figure out how we're going to move forward. And I'm sure there will be tremendous conversations with the network and internally with our writers, and figure out what's best for the show," Glasberg explained.
Enstars notes that Clayton is a character fans will grow to love as he seems to resonate the nice guy side of Tony. Viewers may find some similarities between the two that will somehow fill in the gap that Tony's sad departure left.
As for Tess, there is also a possibility that she will be promoted as a series regular since she has a strong and sarcastic nature that will make her fit in the hectic and hustle-packed life that Tony once had.
Counsel & Heal suggests that Tess and Clayton will work closely with Abby (Pauley Perrette) and Gibbs (Mark Harmon) as one of the show's strongest characters has departed.
"NCIS" season fourteen is expected to premiere sometime in Fall 2016 on CBS.
